Seventh month blog growth report, already?! Time flies when you’re having fun. Why I post blog growth and income reports:
When I started my journey of blogging, I read lots of posts titled “blog income reports” and “blog growth reports” where bloggers post all their traffic and monetary numbers for their readers to see, to be completely transparent about everything they do!
The first income report I read was by Create And Go, which they update monthly here. They have great info and you should check them out if you’re interested in blogging.Create And Go is a very successful blog, with many followers and high SEO ranking. Comparatively, I found very few new bloggers that post growth reports or income reports in the early stages of their blog.
Most people wait 4-6 months, or maybe a whole year, to post a growth report – enough time for them to build a social media presence and gain authority online.
I decided to start monthly growth reports at the beginning of my blogging career to show the process from the very start of creating a new blog! These blogging reports will include growth and income information, social media information, as well as my goals for the following month of blogging!

General Information:
- I launched BeautyBrainsBlush.com on December 1, 2018
- This report covers my seventh month blog growth, from June 1 – 30, 2019
- I published 10 blog posts this month!
Page Views and Users
Goals I had for this month:
- 15k users
- 18k page views
This month’s statistics:
- 9,586 users (up from 5.6k)
- 12,511 page views (up from 7.1k)

This month was a lot better than last month.
A lot of that was because of this post. It was ranked highly in Google SEO for many different related keywords and clearly spiked my traffic up when that particular makeup product was released. It was also the reason I made so much affiliate cash this month (more on that later!).
However, this is still a bit short of April’s stats, when I had 11.9k users and 14.1k page views. Hopefully I’ll finally reach my goal next month!

Goals for next month:
- 15k users
- 18k page views
Acquisition
Goals I had for this month:
Write articles based on Pinterest recommendations.
This month’s statistics:

If you remember last month’s acquisition, I had a lot more social traffic (mainly Pinterest). This month I had a lot of organic hits, because of this post.
My goal for this month was to write articles based on Pinterest SEO research. I did do that (1 and 2) but it isn’t very popular yet. I’m also really hoping that this post becomes popular on Pinterest because there are multiple pinnable images that can work for many keywords! They will get shared more over the next month because of my Tailwind schedule. We’ll see how they do!
Goals for next month:
- Answer some questions on Quora (had a couple from there!)
- Write 3 posts based on Pinterest SEO

Goals I had for this month:
- 90 subscribers (goal to gain 50 from opt in)
This month’s statistics:
- 68 subscribers (up from 40!)
I didn’t reach my goal of 90 total subscribers this month, I did gain a lot!
Of those that subscribed this month, 15 people have subscribed because of my new lead magnet opt in! So far it is converting a lot better than last month (when I only gained 6 subscribers), and I hope it will continue doing so in the coming months! I think in August I would love a back to school makeup post and opt-in guide. Thoughts?
Goals for next month:
- 100 subscribers
I think this amount is a good goal; it is achievable but would still be more than this month.
Shameless plug:
Social Media
Goals I had for this month:
- Go live more – 2x week IG, maybe also FB.
- Get serious about starting Youtube.
This month’s statistics:
- Pinterest: 5, 332 followers, 2.2 million monthly reach
(last month 4,131 followers and 3 million monthly reach)
The real seventh month blog growth was a growth in Pinterest followers. I gained a LOT of followers this month! I really hope this trend continues. I’ve been better at scheduling Tailwind and not letting my queue run out. My monthly reach dropped but honestly that’s okay – it’s just that last month’s very popular pins have cycled out of the monthly reach. I still have a huge reach! - Instagram: 1367 followers
(last month 1381 followers)
I lost all the followers I gained last month, ha! Like I said last month, IG is so hard. I ended up not posting for a week this month because I was so burned out trying to stay active and have good posts. I polled my followers via stories and they voted to have me post fewer times a week, so I’m going to post 2-4 times a week now instead of 6-7. Until the IG algorithm changes, I don’t think it’s worth my stress and burnout trying to be active all the time. I do need to go live more, though! - Facebook: 86 followers
(last month 84)
Once again, I did absolutely nothing for Facebook this month. I rarely posted unless I had a new IG image or new blog post. - Twitter: 14 followers, I don’t really use Twitter I just have the account.
I didn’t go live more like I wanted to. We ended up not having internet for a quarter of the month and I didn’t post on IG for another quarter – a little personal boycott haha.
I really think that going live on Facebook would be nice and help me, but I’m honestly a bit scared to! That’s why I haven’t already. I don’t want to be live and have no one watch. Maybe a couple friends can plan to be online and interact with me while I do it?
Youtube. I didn’t start this month, but I researched some equipment stuff and learned a bit from others. I plan to start after me and the hubby move – I don’t want to deal with setting up a “studio” for only a month or two.
Goals for next month:
- Post more older blog posts on FB to cycle them through – I have enough to do this and not be repetitive!
- Go live 2x a week, IG or FB
Income
Goals I had for this month:
- $250
- update deals page again
- advertise deals page more on Pinterest/FB
- post affiliate links for newly launched products on FB? (I don’t know if this would help with my small audience)
This month’s statistics:
- Google AdSense: $1.73
I had that robots.txt error that a lot of people did, and didn’t realize it – so I probably missed out on a few dollars of earnings this month. You live and you learn! - Amazon Associates: $3.55
Not a lot, but that’s 11 orders – I have a decent number of people ordering from my older posts, because I didn’t add many new links for Amazon this month! - rStyle: $319.25
Yeah, you read that right. This number (like all affiliate numbers) may change as people return/exchange products they ordered, but I earned over $300 from this program. 819 clicks and 39 orders, each above $50!
Total for June 2019: $324.53
I truly, truly, TRULY did NOT expect to reach my goal this month. I actually cried when I saw the number in my affiliate analytics!
Thank you to everyone who purchased through an affiliate link! It really benefits all of us and I’m so happy about my progress this month. I can’t wait for that number to be four digits 🙂
This was exclusively because of the new makeup releases that launched in June, which I was ranked highly for on Google. I updated affiliate links the minute they launched for as many sites as I am an affiliate for. If I hadn’t done that, I would’ve made probably $30 from rStyle.

There are also expenses to blogging, including hosting, Tailwind, Canva, and other random little things (like backdrop supplies and office materials)!
Goals for next month:
- $500
- update July deals
- advertise deals page more
I am kind of assuming I won’t hit the $500 goal, because so much of the affiliate money I made this month was because of a single makeup launch – but I’m hopeful that I can do it anyway!!

Future Goals
- Start Youtube
- Research business structures and tax information
- Keep a lookout for people stealing my content
I thought I would mention this here, since it doesn’t really fit in anywhere else – but I found a site that was stealing my written content. It really hurt me, because I put so much time and effort into this blog. I’m trying to make this my forever career, and someone copy and pasted my words as if they were their own.
(Don’t worry – I contacted them and they removed it from their website. I just need to be careful in the future and keep my eye on them!)
I hope my seventh month blog growth report was helpful for you! All these numbers are real, and it’s sometimes weird putting it all out there on the internet – but I know I personally would have loved to read these.

Loved reading this Income Report.
We seem to have a lot in common. We are writing our income reports for the same reason!
I posted a loss this month, but I’m really hoping to start making some profit from my blog: https://johnfowler.co/profitable-blog-income-report-june-2019-part-2/
Can’t wait to follow your blog and see the next update
John
Thanks so much, John! I loved your report as well. Losses at the beginning are normal, especially when you pay for a year membership up front! I didn’t make any profit my first couple months blogging. Keep at it!
