About
Hey! I’m Kailey. Thanks for checking out my blog!
I’m a nerd who loves all things beauty.
I have always been super artsy, and since I graduated from college, I have shifted from drawing and painting to using makeup to express my creativity.
I’ve always disliked the idea that beauty and brains don’t mix, and the claim that it is impossible to have both. I created this blog to challenge this stereotypical idea. I aim to empower people to embrace beauty, makeup, and femininity, while being intelligent and brainy!
That’s the short version. If you still want more information on me (and want to see a picture of my cat) keep reading the rest of this post.
I spent three years at a private college in Michigan and earned a Bachelors of Science in Psychology and a minor in Computer Information Systems in 2018. I LOVE psychology, I’m definitely a self-identified nerd, and I am so proud of that!

Two months after graduation, I walked down the aisle and said “We do!!!!” with my best friend.

Penny, my cat, moved with us to Memphis. Penny is my lil Tiger, and has the most beautiful eyes. She’s all settled into our home, and loves walking on my desk – on top of all my makeup.

Together we adopted another cat, Draco! He’s a little shadow with the cutest white patches on his chest and tummy. He loves to cuddle more than anything. Here’s a picture of Draco doing what he does best – sleeping!

In 2020, we moved back to the mitten. We miss the warmth of Tennessee, but are excited to see where our journey takes us next!
After a stint of freelancing in 2020-1, it is finally 2023 and I’m back on the blog.
I love writing this blog, and I love connecting with readers like you. Everything on this blog is written by me, not ghostwriters, guest posters, or artificial intelligence. I’m looking forward to the next few years of teaching you all about makeup!
If you have any blog suggestions or requests, or simply want to chat with me, feel free to reach out via any of my blog’s social medias or through email at kailey@beautybrainsblush.com 🙂
